Neurofeedback Therapy

With neurofeedback, we train the electrical activity in the brain. During an intake we check what exactly happens in your brain. We compare the results of your intake with the data from a large database containing the data of people without complaints. We can then eliminate the difference in electrical activity between you and people without complaints, thanks to neurofeedback training.

On this page, we will show you some examples of situations in which neurofeedback therapy can be used. You can find more about neurofeedback on our info pages. See for example also more information about neurofeedback, information about the neurofeedback intake and information about a neurofeedback session.

You can follow neurofeedback therapy with or without a referral from a physician, neurologist, psychiatrist or psychologist.

Examples of Neurofeedback Therapy

ADHD, ADD & Concentration problems

Neurofeedback therapy can be successfully used for ADHD, ADD and concentration problems. Whether you are a child, teen or adult, neurofeedback therapy can help you become calmer and more attentive. Be sure to take a look at our information page about neurofeedback for concentration problems.

Depression

Our team has extensive experience in treating depression with neurofeedback therapy. Depending on your personal situation, neurofeedback can be used alone or as a supportive therapy.

Sleep problems

Problems with falling asleep or staying asleep can have many causes. With neurofeedback, we can determine where the electrical signal in the brain deviates, and address this in a very targeted way. Our neurofeedback therapy has been successfully used against sleep problems.

Neurofeedback Stress Burnout

Stress and Burn-out

Stress and burn-out are expressed in different ways on the QEEG, but can often be dealt with efficiently through neurofeedback therapy. Whether it is about a feeling of exhaustion, an overworked feeling or a mix of both, neurofeedback can help you.

Trauma

Neurofeedback is there for you, and can help you process emotional trauma. Neurofeedback helps you to process trauma in a gentle way so that you can enjoy life again, without intrusive memories or feelings. We often treat these problems in collaboration with a psychologist, for example.

Headaches and migraines

Recurring headaches? When the cause can be noticed on a QEEG, neurofeedback therapy can bring you relief. During the neurofeedback sessions, we will train with you towards a better electrical balance in the brain in order to train away these pain signals.

Anxiety disorders

Neurofeedback therapy is a powerful tool to overcome an anxiety disorder and can be used for a wide range of anxiety disorders. Next to this, neurofeedback is also often used to help weaning off of anxiety medication, such as benzodiazepines.

Autism

Neurofeedback will not “cure” autism, but can greatly improve quality of life. This makes it easier to live with an autism spectrum disorder. Neurofeedback therapy improves symptoms such as anxiety, social anxiety and tics. In addition, it can facilitate communication as well as learning.

Tinnitus

Tinnitus can severely interfere with daily functioning. In some cases, however, there is no physical injury that explains the tinnitus. In neurofeedback, we then look for abnormalities in the auditory areas of the cortex. If we find such abnormalities, neurofeedback can help.

Other applications of neurofeedback therapy

You have read above about the most common situations that our clients overcome. However, neurofeedback can be used in a broad spectrum of complaints. There are many other diagnoses and/or symptoms that can be linked to electrical brain activity. When that link is present, there is a good chance that neurofeedback therapy can help.
